Mahony Collective

The multidisciplinary projects of Mahony Collective draw from historical as well as contemporary narratives. The group emphasizes a process-oriented practice in order to question what knowledge is, how it is acquired, and the possible extent to which a given subject or entity can be known.

Their works deal with the representation and interpretation of space and culture, mappings and ideological images that convey information within and outside sites. By transporting and exchanging objects and stories from one place to another, they chart the inextricable interconnection between local and global, while collapsing and extending distances to identify interrelation.

The collaborative production of the collective alludes to a decentred subjectivity, a collectivity that is not contingent on a singular identity. Thus, their works also speak of collaboration not only among the three members of the collective, but also between them and numerous other potential communities and collaborators.

Mahony Collective are Stephan Kobatsch, Jenny Wolka and Clemens Leuschner.
